The SEAT Ibiza has been updated, now including LED headlights in the exterior and a large floating touchscreen in the interior. The Full Link system is now wireless, giving easy access to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This small city car now has driver assistance systems, including Travel and Side Assist and will be available with three petrol engines, including 80PS, 95PS and 110PS. The new SEAT Ibiza is expected to enter production in the third quarter of the year.
Known for its iconic design, the new model is defined by subtle additions to the exterior. The New SEAT Ibiza now integrates full LED technology, with Eco LEDs being standard on the SE and SE Technology models, while FR models upwards get full LED technology. This offers better visibility with lower energy consumption. There is the choice of three new alloy wheel designs, two 17” for the FR, Xcellence and Xcellence Lux trims and one 18” option for the FR Sport. There is a 15” alloy and 16” machined alloy wheel also available for the SE and SE Technology. It is now available in a range of nine colours, including the new Sapphire Blue and Asphalt Blue.
The interior design is improved through the new materials and technology systems, adding to its dynamic character. The new floating central infotainment system display has been increased by over 20 percent, with the standard screen size now being 8.25” on the SE trim and 9.2” on SE Technology models and above. Plus, its higher position in the cabin makes it safer to operate as it is now at the driver’s eye line. On the FR Sport and Xcellence Lux models, there is a high-resolution 10.25” Digital Cockpit which brings the Ibiza’s interior into the digital age. Another highlight to the interior is the new soft dashboard, as well as the new ergonomic multifunction Nappa leather steering wheel.
The New SEAT Ibiza is fully connected with in-car connectivity, Full Link including wireless access to Apple CarPlay, Android Auto wired and out-of-car connectivity with SEAT CONNECT. Customers can access their digital lives no matter what device they use, and it simplifies the process of bringing in contact lists, music and navigation systems. This can all be accessed via the intuitive, floating central touchscreen or integrated steering wheel controls. Voice recognition allows the user to interact with the infotainment system using natural commands, making it quicker and easier to find navigation information or search for music.
A new range of driver assistance systems are available, making it safer than ever. These include Travel Assist, offering semi-autonomous driving so that the vehicle can change its cruise speed with the flow of traffic and Lane Assist, to ensure the vehicle is always centered in the lane. Traffic Sign Recognition means the vehicle always knows the speed limit of the road the vehicle is travelling on and visually alerts the driver.
