After the introduction of the first SEAT Arona in 2017, it’s now time for a revamp, including a new exterior design and new driver assistant systems such as Travel Assist. Since 2017, the SUV has sold more than 350,000 vehicles globally and is set to remain in demand following the new design.
This revamped design includes ambient lighting and a larger floating-screen infotainment system, which brings a heightened sense of modernity to the interior. Under the bonnet, four different petrol powertrains between 90PS and 150PS are available, linked to either manual or DSG dual-clutch transmissions. The new SEAT Arona is expected to enter production in the third quarter of the year.
The exterior design has been refreshed through the new hot-stamped grille designs, with a wide range of trims available, including SE, SE Technology, FR, FR Sport, Xperience and Xperience Lux. The exterior lighting is now all LED technology, with eco LEDs used on SE and SE Technology trims and full LEDs on FR models upwards. These new LEDs offer better visibility with lower energy consumption. There is also a choice of three new alloy wheel designs, one new 17” and two 18” options which enhance the side profile. Plus, the new Arona has an enriched palette of 10 exterior colours, including some new choices such as Dark Camouflage, Asphalt Blue and Sapphire Blue, as well as three roof colours: Midnight Blue, Magnetic Tech and new Candy White.
The interior design is characterised by a new soft dashboard, featuring a larger, floating central infotainment system with an 8.25” screen or 9.2” on SE Technology models upwards. This is placed in an elevated position suitable for the driver’s line of sight. There is also a clear 10.25” Digital Cockpit linked to a new ergonomic multifaction steering on the FR Sport and Xperience Lux models, making the interior of the Arona fully digital and sleeker than ever.
The SEAT Arona is fully connected with in-car and out-car connectivity, including wireless Full Link integration and SEAT Connect. The wireless Full Link system allows customers to easily access their digital lives via Apple CarPlay or wired Android Auto. The infotainment system provides everything from media to traffic information at the touch of a button or via voice recognition. Now including SEAT CONNECT, users can access a range of remote services that help maximise the driving experience. Users can remotely access their vehicle’s data, including driving data, parking position, vehicle status including doors and lights and set up speed alerts so you can be warned if someone using your vehicle is driving too fast.
Four different petrol (TSI) powertrains will be offered, with outputs ranging from 95PS to 150PS. These will be linked to either manual or DSG dual-clutch transmissions. There are three 1.0 EcoTSI options available and a larger 1.5 EcoTSI. The largest option has an output of 150PS/250Nm, displaying its impressive efficiency.
